The whiskey is a bit expensive (2.30Ls for 50 grams), but the big room and American style interior make this a relaxing place to spend an evening. Apparently word has slipped out and this is a popular stop with Swedes who come to town. Live music on the weekends, and the locals say it has the best atmosphere of all the bars.

The "Duck" has inexpensive, interesting food, sattelite TV, western magazines, and a hip young local crowd in a setting that looks like a newspaper office! Non-smoking hours 11:00 - 18:00.

This is the main concert arena in the city, which hosts the big Liepajas Dzintars rock festival in August. When the weather is warm, discos are held here on Friday and Saturday nights when you can watch Russian sailors dance to Latvian folk music. Just a stones throw from the beach.
