Anchorages

Ocean Marina to Sattahip Map

A. Ocean Marina

Ocean Marina

You can anchor outside the entrance to the marina well away from the marked channel in about 4-5 metres on a sandy bottom. Yachts should get permission before entering. Call the harbour master, who is standing by on Channel 12 during normal office hours. Facilities include a travel lift, and repairs and service can be arranged.

B + C. Koh Klet Kaeo

Anchor in 4-5 metres on either side of the island. The southern anchorage is ideal for overnight stops in very pretty surroundings. Vessels may sometimes be approached by the Thai Navy because of Security restrictions enforced by the naval base at Sattahip.

D. Koh Khram

This deep anchorage in 30 metres-plus at the entrance of the bay provides good protection in the southwest season. The inner bay is shallow, and the area is subject to Thai naval security restrictions.

F. Satahip Bay

Sattahip Bay is a beautiful natural harbour protected in all season. Anchor in 3-4 metres off the sandy beach in front of the Royal Thai Navy Yacht Club. There are good facilities ashore, although visits are by invitation only. The Navy Club sometimes organizes regattas in conjunction with the Royal Varuna Yacht Club at Pattaya.

The waters adjacent to the naval station south of the Laem Pu Chao light on the mainland and east to Koh Phai are totally out of bounds to cruising yachts. Do not go near this area.
