Hasselkobben

On Hasselkobben, the only thing you will notice is a big black iron cross. This is a Coldinu cross, erected in 1895 by members of the order of Arla Coldinu. The order goes back to 1765. On the 14th of August, the annual celebration day, an excursion by boat is one of the rituals of this order. As another ritual a new cross is erected to remind of a location where a significant event once took place, like display of excellent seamanship, saving of somebody in distress etc.

Many such crosses have 'disappeared' over the years, but some are still there. The order is still active.
