Wellcome to Smøla, the village nearest to the open ocean! The county has over 4000 islands, islet and skerries with all the opportunities in the world for an active life. You will notice that the people of Smøla have preserved their identity and cultural heritage. Kuløya and Edøya  together with rest of the Sør-Smøla area recieved the cultural award for 1995.
