To look out from the North Cape Plateau over the ocean and the skies, is a most fantastic view. And the experience when you are standing 307 meters above sea level and can see a carpet of skies beneath you, with the midnight sun shining so it looks like a big pink marshmallow, that is a feeling you`ll never forget.

Since 1664 when Signor Fransesco Negri came to North Cape as the first "tourist", an increasing number of tourists from all over the world have had the opportunity to experience this feeling of freedom.

North Cape has become a modern tourist centre with several hundred thousand visitors every year.

What many tourists should be aware of when they visit North Cape, is that it isn`t The North Cape Plateau that is Europes northermost point, but Knivskjellodden that lies slightly northwest of The Plateau.

Magerøya has several harbours that will take care of visiting yachts.
