Cala Galdana

Cala Galdana

Named the "Queen of the Calas' and situated on the south coast. Just 11 km from Ferreries, is Cala Galdana the most beautiful pine fringed bays in Menorca. The name itself is a corruption of the Moorish Guad-al-ana (The Barranco of St Anne) after whom a nearby farm is named. It has probably had more picture taken of the beautiful pine clad cliffs, enclosing the large horseshoe shaped bay, than almost anywhere on Menorca.  With emerald green waters and gently shelving sand it makes a perfect holiday destination.

Eating
Restaurant Sa Luna     Pork in Almond sauce! It's the best thing you'll ever taste!

'Peter and his staff are brilliant with children and whilst you would not say the menu was typically Menorcan , the food is well prepared, very well priced'

Es Barrancin     we were all well (and I mean well) fed for less than £15 all up! Fixed priced menu was £6.50 per adult and was rather good value.
Es Barranc     slightly more up-market but fantastic value, service was prompt even at high season, very varied menu.
Chino Dragon     I've never been a great fan of Chinese food, believing it to be bland and uninteresting. Wrong !! The food we had here was beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and even the kids found plenty on the menu to interest them. In the end we filled the table with dishes and side dishes, and pigged out for less than £45 for the four of us, including drinks!
Paseo Maritimo     several set menus, with quite a good choice within each. Nothing fancy, but certainly not tacky. Examples : the tomato soup came with a mountain of croutons on a plate - a meal in itself. The leg of lamb was enormous, cooked the Menorcan way, and just fell off the bone. The salmon was well presented with vegetables and salad.
