Cala Forcat

Cala'n Forcat is quite busy. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops & supermarkets. There is also a water park situated on the main road.

The beaches are all very small coves and the two at the north of the resort require you to climb down steps, they could present some problems for the elderly or disabled. The south beach is about a 20 minute walk from the centre, the mini train runs every half hour to this beach and stops at various points along the way, you will hear the train long before you see it as it blasts out Tom Jones & Abba at 3,000 decibels.

There is a diving club at one of the north coves who welcome beginner's and experts alike.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday but also want a bit of night life then this is the place to come.

The beaches

The beaches can be quite hard to find so here are the directions.

Beach No 1... Walk down the main street with the coast line on your Left, past the Yuca bar on the right until you come to a fork in the road, take the left fork and stay on the left hand side of the road until you see a large hotel. Just before the hotel you will see the sign for the beach.

Beach No 2... Opposite the Yuca bar or the roundabout you will see a track, follow the track until you get to the road then turn right, cross over and follow the road round. You can also get to this beach by road. Turn up by the water park and take a right turn.

Beach No 3... Walk down the main street with the coast line on your right. when you come to a four way junction it's opposite you.

Eating
Aqua park     the pizzas were excellent and so was the chicken in almond sauce. Also very reasonable prices.( give the lasagne a miss...   yuk) of all the people we spoke to nobody had a  decent paella.
Restaurant  La Baras     he leg of lamb is a must as is the veal.  All meals are cooked in a clay baked oven.
Sa Calderela     must be one of the best, value for money. It has a lovely atmosphere, the service is quick, and the food is excellent. A good place for all ages and all tastes. A huge menu and the deserts are delicious (unusual, the Menorcan's are not desert eaters).
Giovannis Pizzeria   near Indiana Bills Feed a family on a budget.
La Brasas   Down the alley next to Porkys bar If you are a meat eater then this is the place to be. The leg of lamb & the mixed grill. Excellent !
Las Brasas claims to have the only clay cooking stove in Menorca. It is true Menorcan food served in an unusual setting of wooden tables and benches. You will find locals eat here. The menu is good and each day special meat is on offer
Haiti, Bianco, El Arpon     All have the same menu & prices. Friendly atmosphere & good food. Chicken in mushroom & garlic sauce.
La Ancora     The chicken can only be described as disgusting.
El Patio   near the Hotel Faragut and looking out over the sea to Majorca This is largely a fish restaurant but does cater for every taste with a very varied menu - any of the shell fish is to be recommended, grilled lobster etc. and they do a very good fish kabab.  Fresh fish is delivered daily.  The owner also has a good selection of wines.  You can watch the sun set, enjoy good food, in a really pleasant atmosphere.
El Abuelo     after a starter and main course, it is unlikely that you will have room for one! Very varied menu, and at an average price for 3 adults and one child of under £25 (inc drinks) as at May 2001, excellent value. Service is exceptional with one or two "character" waiters to add entertainment value. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Maxi's snack bar     a wonderful restaurant / bar with an outside eating area which sits around 25 people with the same inside. It is an excellent place to view the sunset on an evening. prices very reasonable, an example was a pepper steak, cuttle fish, 3 large beers & 3 white wines for £20
Tropical Kiss     This is an excellent bar.  Very tropical looking as the name would suggest.  Great atmospherea and a large selection of cocktails which are served in unique "cups".  The service is fast and friendly.  The owner Manu is great fun and speaks good English.  Juan Carlos is also good fun and sports a great haircut.  The music is good and they also have large screen TV's and a pool table along with some games machines.  Both young, old and families were made welcome
Porkys Bar     Good atmosphere, very friendly & cheap. Sing along some nights.
Yuca Bar     Lots of Import beers, Sky TV, Pool & Football tables, Mini golf, Beer garden & English Music. Good Food & friendly atmosphere with a lunatic waiter that runs round like he's got a ferret down his trousers. Good fun !
Larenzos Bar     Typical Spanish run bar pretending to be an English Pub. 2 playstations for the kids and a pool table. Overpriced
Freddies Bar     Run by a brit ! 2 playstations for the kids & a pool table. If you ever see this guy smile it's probably wind or he's got something in his eye. Miserable sod !
Bar Davids     Friendly bar staff and great views over Cala'n Forcat. Located at the top of the shopping centre near the roundabout.
Blue Breeze     Nice bar with a Pool table, Mtv, Disco Etc.
