Ghajnsielem is a village situated in the South East of Gozo. The name Ghajnsielem comes from a spring called "Hain Salem" in English "Greeting Spring". Angelo Grech, a farmer with a great devotion to Our Lady, was going; as he do usually to this spring with his animals to give them to drink. Suddenly he saw an extraordinary vision. A white dressed Lady talked to him and ordered him to put a statue there, with the name of  Loreto. The next day Angelo talked to others about this vision. Immediately they started collecting money, and ordered a statue. Every evening they gather around this statue praying and saying the rosary. From there the devotion to this statue, now known as "Our Lady of Loreto" continued to increase. Until today we will find a village with a population of 2450. In place of this statue a marvelous church was build.
