Approach with care, narrow entrance with submerged rocks along the shore. Well protected in E winds.

Amier Bay   Northern Malta.

Good protection from SE to SW winds

Blue Grotto   Southern Malta. 

Short-term anchorage. Protected from NE to NW winds.

Blue Lagoon     Comino. 

Beautiful anchorage with crystal clear sea, sandy bottom and good holding. Protected from all winds. Crowded in summer, especially weekends

Fomm ir-Rih     Bahrija  Western Malta. Protected in easterly winds but the cliffs usually produce a rebound from any W swell
Ghajn Tuffieha      Western Malta 

Sandy beach anchorage open to the W. Good protection in E winds.

Ghar Lapsi      Southern Malta 
Only suitable for small craft with local knowledge. Short-term anchorage possible in NE winds in deep water.
Gnejna Bay      Western Malta 
Good anchorage in E winds.
 
Golden Bay

Sandy beach - anchorage open to the W. Good protection in E winds.

Island Bay
   
  Delimara
Southern Malta. Two anchorages divided by a small spit. Open SE. Mud sand and weed bottom. Well protected in NW winds.
Marfa Bay
   
  Northern Malta. 
Sandy bottom with good holding. Bay open to the N and NE. Old ferry landing provides protection from W and NW winds. Sheltered from the SE through to W.
Marsascala Bay
   
  Marsascala 

Southern Malta. Small bay well protected from the S through to N. Inner part is shallow. When approaching from the SW, care must be exercised because of the Munxar reefs.

Southern Malta. Large bay open to the SE but protected by a breakwater. Many anchorages are available depending on wind direction. To be approached with caution because of shoal patches.

Northern Malta. Shoal patches in the middle (breaks in north-easterly weather). Sandy beach open only to NE but well protected from the prevailing NW.

Mgarr ix-Xini
   
  Gozo. 

Mgarr ix-Xini

Narrow waterway with good anchorage faces SSE. Found between the Ta' Cenc Plateau and Xewkija. Mġarr Ix-Xini is reputed to be one of the harbours used by the Knights' galleys. and lies between Xewkija and Sannat
The entrance to this natural cove is guarded by a tower which was raised by the Universita(local government) in 1661

  St Julian's 
Sliema/St Julian's Area. Small bay with anchorage suitable only for small yachts. Sheltered from SSE through SW and NW.
