Has a superb sandy bottom, turquoise waters, offers good shelter, and is therefore a suitable cove for spending the night. 

Playa Portals Vells is aprox 5 km from Magaluff. It is best reached by car or taxi, however there are boat excursions to this place also. There is a small bar/restaurant, but as it is quite expensive it pay to bring something from home, especially if the whole family are going. It is a popular place, that is best avoided in week ends. The best time is early morning or late afternoon.

Portals is located 9 kms by motorway from the centre of Palma and 16 Kms from the airport. The harbour has a total capacity of 670 moorings with sizes ranging from 8 x 3 meters to 80 Mts. L.O.A.

Since it´s inauguration in 1986, Puerto Portals has been setting the standard for other Mediterranean ports, leading the way with it´s provision of facilities for nautical activities, a wide range of sports and tourism. Puerto Portals has become a fine example of how such a modern, functional port should operate.

This marina is the crémé de la creme of Mallorcan harbours, housing beautiful people, cars and yachts. The full gamut of nautical services are available here, from innumerable brokerages to excellent chandleries, bars and restaurants. Smaller craft can be provided with undercover storage, and all other wintering facilities for yachts of every size are readily obtainable. It's a good idea to contact the port captain by telephone or on VHF Channel 9 prior to arrival because, particularly in the summer, this port can get very full.
