Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club		39 Birmingham Road Cowes Tel 01983 296333	The Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club was established in 1952 by the late "Tiny" Mitchell as a club for local yachtsmen. It has evolved, largely through the voluntary labours of its members, to become a popular venue for both racing and cruising yachtsmen. The club can provide marina berths and shoreside boat storage facilities for its members and guests. The approach by sea to the club, situated on the west bank of the Medina, is made by turning to starboard after passing the southernmost pontoon of Cowes Yacht Haven and the club pontoons are directly ahead.

The Club provides its members with inside storage and hard standing for small yachts, motorboats, sailing dinghies and tenders. It has drying out mud berths with slipway and pontoon landing at all states of the tide. Its social side centres around its Thursday evening racing and its sailors have earned good reputations by winning events as diverse as Cowes Weeks, CCRC, Admirals Cup to Island dinghy meetings.

Set in idyllic surroundings overlooking Cowes Harbour entrance, it has panoramic views of the Solent. The Club is a natural choice for everyone interested in sailing or socialising. Facilities include pleasant accommodation, comfortable bar and dining areas, excellent food and large sun deck. New members and visiting yachtsmen are especially welcome.
Royal London Yacht Club		The Parade Cowes Tel 01983 299727	The Royal London Yacht Club was founded in London in 1836 and its first meeting place was the Coal Hole Tavern on the Strand. Now, as befits one of Europe's senior yacht clubs, the Royal London is located in the centre of Cowes waterfront where it has been since 1882. A majority of its current members live or work in the Capital. This long history, as a principal element of British yachting, is a matter of great pride to the members of the Club, although its desire to maintain past traditions is balanced by an active and progressive new membership.
Royal Yacht Squadron		The Castle Cowes Tel 01983 292191	The Royal Yacht Squadron was founded in 1815. In 1826 it became the first Yacht Club to establish organised yacht racing in Britain, becoming the world authority for devising racing rules and handicapping. Its annual regattas established Cowes as the headquarters of sailing in the UK. In 1858 The Squadron took residence in the Castle but it was when the Prince of Wales became its patron in 1863 that the public interest in regatta racing increased, inspiring a more competitive spirit on the water whilst at the same time establishing Cowes as the place to sail and be seen. In 1851 the Squadron was the instigator of what was to become the most prestigious racing event in the world- The America's Cup- and in August 2001 co-hosted with the New York Yacht Club a special Jubilee Regatta to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the original race. Few who witnessed the event will never forget seeing over 200 of the worlds finest and most beautiful yachts sailing off Cowes and around the Island for the re-enactment race. The event also attracted the largest single gathering of 12M class yachts, but the undoubted stars were the fabulous J Class yachts - Endeavour, Shamrock and Velsheda which raced off Cowes.
Royal Ocean Racing Club		20 St.James's Place London Tel 020 7493 2248 82 High Street Cowes (summer season only) Tel 01983 295144	The Royal Ocean Racing Club was founded in 1925 in Plymouth but has an elegant clubhouse in St James Place, London, although operating out of Cowes High Street for many of its annual events. Membership is strictly limited to competent offshore yachtsmen and yachtswomen who qualify by completing a minimum mileage of offshore racing. RORC, through its Rating Office, is the national authority for measurement and rating of offshore yachts. It organises the famous Fastnet Race and the Commodores Cup Series being held in Cowes from 11th to 18th August 2002.
