Tammisaari (11.000 inhabitants), is situated in the small Pohja-Bay at the Gulf of Finland, some 80km from Helsinki.
The town was established in 1530 by the Swede, Erik Fleming, and got its town privileges in 1546.

Tammisaari/Ekenäs (translates as "Oak Island") is a nice little town.
