A beautiful island with sandy beaches south of Kotka and Pyttis. A fishing village with 200 people at the turn of the century (1800/19009. Today there are still some poeple living year round on the island. The village has a good harbour with all basic facilities except fuel. Grocery store, restaurant and a museum. 

From the beaches on the southern shore the fishermen's wifes used to collect round pebbles that were shipped to S:t Petersburg and there used as cobblestones. 

You can also reach the island by public transportation from Kotka or Pyttis.
