Lehtma is Hiiumaa's gateway to the sea to the north. Estonia's second largest island is attractive for its nature and interesting history. There are many historical memorials influenced by Swedish and Baltic-German culture. It is said that if you have not seen the Kõpu lighthouse, completed in 1538 and still in use, you have not been to Hiiumaa (Dagö).
Kerdal (Kärdla) is the major town of Hiiuma. Kärdla harbour was destroyed during WWII and has never been rebuilt. The new harbour and marina is 13 km north of the town on the NE side of the northern tip of Hiiuma. The name of the tip and the harbour is Lehtma.

Fishing, trade and visitor harbour. Lighted lane markers lead you to the harbour. Harbour exposed to S and SE winds. There is mooring by buoy for 15 visitor boats for others, mooring is to hull. Depth at mooring 4-5 m. Guards on duty around the clock. Electricity and water are available along the wharf. Nearby are two saunas, toilets, showers and washing machine. There are also bars, a kiosk and a currency exchange, the international telephone and a mailbox. Fuel can be ordered from the Harbour host. You can take a taxi or order a bus through the tourist office to visit Kärdla (12 km), the capital of Hiiumaa or to make a sightseeing tour around Hiiumaa.
