Naestved

Whatever your needs and desires, Naestved has, without doubt, a home that will satisfy even most choosy. Even those who dream of a sea view because, wherever you are in Naestved, the water is never very far away. There is Karrebaek Fjord here, and cliffs and sandy beaches along the coast by Smaaland's Sea. And Susåen (the Susaa stream) meandering through the gentle Danish landscape here.

Naestved is situated on the Island of Sealand (Denmark) about 80 km from Copenhagen. With its 50.000 inhabitants it is the industrial-and commercial center of Southern Sealand. Naestved offers a lot of historical sites f.ex. houses from the Middelage, churches and a museum to mention only a few.

The geographical situation of Naestved makes it an ideal vacation site as there are many possible activities in the region. Situated only 10 km from the sea you can also enjoy the sea and beach at Karrebæksminde. Karrebæksminde offers a beautiful beach and an unique atmosphere due to its fishing boats, old houses, restaurants etc. If you prefer a walk this will also be possible. As other tourist attractions could be mentionned the Castle of Gavnø, Holmegaard and Bon-Bon Land. So if you are going in this direction this year do not forget to visit Naestved - you will not regret it.

Næstved is an incredibly interesting city which is well worth dedicating an hour on. It is exciting to shop in the variety of modern stores the city offers, or enjoy a refreshment in one of the numerous cafés.

It is also very interesting to look at the many sights in the city which, separately, tell a little of Næstved's history. This applies especially to the Middle Ages.

A walk of about an hour will give you a good impression of Næstved. It would be a good idea to start your walk at Sct. Peder's Square. Here you find yourself right in the heart of medievil Næstved. This was when the city was pinned between the 10 kilometre long Mogenstrup Ås (a ridge ) and the Suså (a stream).
