From January to March there is no better cod fishing to be had anywhere in the world than in the Øresund, a fact which attracts anglers to Elsinore from all over Northern Europe.

During those months, sea angling businesses in Elsinore Port are kept busy ferrying anglers out to the good fishing grounds, thus helping to bring life and trade to the port.

Eight ships have permanent berths in the port, but several more arrive during the busy periods, meaning that a total of approx. 60,000 anglers set out from Elsinore Port every year.
