San Sebastian

At this picturesque small town, connected to Tenerife by a ferry-boat, Christopher Columbus made halt on his travel to America. He received help of Doña Maria de Bobadilla, the widow of Count Peraza, to repair one of his ships, La Pinta.
Many things in San Sebastian remind of those happenings still today. Of the fortress only a tower is conserved, the Torre del Conde.
