Yangon

Step back in time as you stroll through the streets of Yangon, a city that remains very similar to its appearance from over thirty years ago. The chess-board pattern of the city’s layout, designed by British officer Lieutenant Fraser, makes locating local pagodas, such as the infamous Shwedagon Pagoda, fairly easy. A city with a name that means literally “End of Strife,” Yangon is imbued with a sense of hopeful anticipation for the future.
