Pärnu, at the innermost part of NE Riga Bay, you find Pärnu. Through history, it has been famous for it's sand beaches and old sanatorium. The old wooden houses remind you of a time gone. At Pärnu two different types of nature meet. At Pärnu the long beaches that run along the coast all the way down to Poland and Denmark begins. Northwards from the town, you find the archipelago, dominated be low, stony beaches made of limestone, similar to the Swedish island Öland. Pärnu is port of entry and a good choice when you sail from or to Latvia.

The city
Pärnu has a history as a resort, and became very polar in the thirties. It is famous for it's beaches.
Even today the town is a popular tourist destination. In the town center you will find many old and well preserved wooden houses.
