Camping in The Baltic States

Estonia Latvia Lithuania
The Estonian word ‘kämping’ may sound like the familiar word ‘camping’, but the sites below are a far cry from the serene, bucolic getaways you may be longing for. A typical campsite offers cabins in addition to tent sites and a host of activities and services, from parking to ping-pong.

There is no campground in the near vicinity of Riga but you can pitch a tent anywhere at your own risk

Wild camping is permitted anywhere in Lithuania except in official nature reserves (including the dunes and the whole of the Curonian spit). So the woods are yours, but be sure to ask permission if you see a house nearby.
